Few of us alive today who were around in the great days of early aviation, when all aircraft were biplanes, so hard for us to understand how it was. But if you’re there, curiosity, and if you love airplanes, let me recommend a very nice book for your own:

“The Age of Biplane” by Chaz Bowyer, Crescent Books Publishers, Bison Books, New York, NY, 1983. ISBN: 0-517-39939-3.

This is a wonderful book contains over 250 high quality photographs, many black and white and authentic historical pictures, and some full color photographs and restored aircraft replica WW I aircraft of the day. Each image has its own story next alongside illustrations giving the reader or viewer a look into the past. Some say that this was indeed the dawn of modern aviation and military aircraft, may be so, and when they do, looking at all these amazing photos, you too will think the same way.

You will see pictures of Sopwith Camel, Spads, Fokkers, Nieuports and peaceful post-war aircraft later used for carrying mail and passengers, and then the book will take you to the golden age of aviation. Literally on a journey in time with the Wright brothers to the front of the Golden Age of aviation. What a cool trip is due by Chaz Bowyer, who was the pilot of the RAF in 1958 and has been writing on topics aircraft magazines and books for a lifetime.

Personally, I can not think of a better book for a family of aviators have in your home or business aircraft have in the waiting room. It’s that good, and perhaps should receive a copy too? Think about it.
